This year’s fall theatrical season at area high schools features standards “Arsenic and Old Lace” and “Pillow Talk” to the more modern productions, including “Into the Woods” and “Love, Death and the Prom.” There will be plenty of twists on William Shakespeare, including “The Curse of the Bard” at West York, “I Hate Shakespeare” at Dallastown Area and “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, ABRIDGED!” at York Country Day. Susquehannock is tackling classic Shakespeare with “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
In addition, three schools — Central York, Delone Catholic and Dover Area — are using staff, alumni, parents and district residents to make their shows efforts of the entire community. Hanover is featuring student dancers, gymnasts and skaters in its production of “Disney’s Little Mermaid Jr.” Read a full list of productions compiled by correspondent Lori Badders.
